Hello Everyone! Welcome to Maongezi (Swahili word for conversations).

Why am I doing this? 2020 was a year of learning and unlearning.

With every month that passed, I found myself taking a lot of time to reflect on the past few years and where I wanted to go. I started by writing down things I have learned from the various business and professional events that I attend throughout the years. It has been incredibly fulfilling to go through this journey and reconnect with people that have left a mark on my own life. In 2016, a friend introduced me to podcasts when Malcom Gladwell released Revisionist History and I had always loved his storytelling abilities and wanted to do something similar. I am also blessed to be around remarkable people. Considering the fact that I speak so often on the ability to overcome adversity and various other topics, whether on stage or when I catch up with friends. I realized that there are so many lessons to learn from all these incredible people in my network and if I can help someone in a small or big way, then why not try it in a different medium. That is what I am sharing on this podcast. Maongezi explores learning from the wisdom of others, everyday stories about the lessons we learn from what happens to us/what happens for us. The show format will be me and a guest. Varied guests. Like former child soldiers, Retired Canadian General, former NFL Athlete and real estate entrepreneur, motivational speaker and oh-so-many more! My guests and I will talk, tell stories. The topics covered will include, Politics, grief, overcoming adversity, having valuable conversations, drive vs. ambition, moments of influence. Who knows what else we will learn? Who knows what might be shared that will inspire your next great creation or achievement? I will share what I have learned from the people who have influenced me. At the very least I hope you will be entertained. At the very best you will find value in these conversations/stories and will use them to be a great man or woman for your family, your community and the world.
